How to celebrate father’s day
Father’s day isn’t an occasion where you eat well, drink and then go to sleep. It is a day for expressing your gratitude to your father. Dedicate the third Sunday of June for your father. This day is not a holiday for just having fun but it is a day to show your love for your father and let him know how you cherish his relationship.
To start the celebration, tell to yourself that it is a day for your father. In the morning give him a treat of what he likes. It may be breakfast in the bed or a drink with the lunch or dinner at his favorite restaurant. Just let him enjoy the day to the fullest and you make arrangements for his enjoyment. It will be a great pleasure seeing your father enjoying his day.
Instead of buying traditional gifts, gift him with something he wanted for a long time. Buy him something which he wanted to own but could not afford at the moment. It may be his favorite golf ball accessory or a painting he loved.
You have to watch out your father closely and you have to satisfy his wishes on his day. His wish may be very silly to highly professional. Get to know more about your father and identify his desire. If he likes learning piano, sign up under his name for the piano lessons. Surprise him the whole day with your concern.
The ultimate gift you can present to him is your time. Spend the entire day with him. If he was waiting to go to any place, reserve tickets for that. Father’s day comes once a year and you are spending for your precious father.
You can start a memory book that contains the life with your father. Update the memory book every year and record your beautiful moments together. Add everything you know and admire about your father.
If you have lost your father and if he remains only in your memories, instead of spending the day in full grief, you can send donations to his favorite charity. You can start a helping trust in your father’s name if you can manage that. Do something you can for the cause he cared about.
You can bring out the entire family together and surprise him. Organize games and let your father play. Talk about your father and let others talk about their relationship with your father. Don’t forget the cameras to freeze the happy moments. Start a photo album that contains your father’s day celebration and add photos to this album every year.
